Raiding other planets.

How Do you know which planets to raid? Are empty planets good to raid? Just looking for some insight. I have recyclers, and basic attack ships right now.

It is profitable to raid empty planets. Just don't touch Gas giants. If you are looking for something in particular check out the planet before raiding it. The more mines of particular type it has the more of that material you will get from raiding it. Volcanic planet will give you mostly metal, and the water one has lots of deuterium.
Raiding other people is also a good way to get some riches. (some times) Generally you would want to look for some one with smaller population then yours. However it doesn't always mean that Bigger population is stronger. You might have had a lot more goods to spend then your neighbor, and you decided to invest in your ships. Your neighbor built some stockyards and upgraded them to lvl 20 along with his mines. He has bigger population then you, but you have bigger fleet. your 500 battle ships will come over to his planet with 2000 population and kill his 3 Flack Turrets. When they return with loot your 700 population will have a good boost in Metal Crystals and Deuterium. (if you didn't forget to upgrade your Stockyards )
Basically if you know you can win, go for it. Raid!

Well I don't have a ship capable of doing reconnaissance right now so it's hard for me to be able to see what kind of defenses other planets have. So i guess I'll stick with mostly comets, empty planets, and maybe a few newbie planets.

If you attack a planet with 50-200 pop it is safe to assume that they will not have much defenses, although you will be surprised at the ammount of resources they bear. I recently hit a 208 planet with 20k each resource and 3 basic flanks as defenses.

Does anyone know what attack missles do? How many ships do i need to attack with? Do I send harvesters to get the goods?

attack missiles are basically useless, even though they have unlimited range and fuel, the cost-effectiveness just doesn't pay off (you pay more to destroy any object then your opponent pays to rebuild it)

Greeting Cobra Officials and fellow members!

I wanted to post about an excellent League raid potential for everyone with a decent fleet.

The league named UAF is low on members, pop, and fleet size, but high on resources. I know this because I used to be in this league before they changed their name and dropped me in the process...

Their leader General Lapelli housed on planet Yavin (1|-22|10) is a chump and needs to be farmed repeatedly... I believe he holds himself a little "too" high and mighty for his own good... he may be the only opposition for that league.

Once the raids start, why not post the battle results on here for all to see and laugh at...
